SnapSafe

Project: SnapSafe Trailer

Client: Adam Brown

Website: SnapSafe.org

Background:

SnapSafe is a camera and photo app purpose-built to protect your most private images through a multi-layered security approach. Designed to defend against everyday privacy invasions as well as more extreme scenarios, such as border searches, SnapSafe combines legal safeguards (PIN-only access to uphold constitutional rights), social protections (strong PIN requirements and an emergency "Poison Pill" feature), and robust technical defenses (state-of-the-art encryption and secure storage). Unlike typical photo apps, SnapSafe makes security the foundation, empowering users to stay in control of their moments at all times.

Creative Goals & Challenges

The main challenge was to convey a serious, safety-focused message in a way that felt reassuring rather than intimidating. The motion trailer needed to be clear, modern, and approachable to encourage adoption, especially among people who might feel nervous using technology for security.

Typography: Roboto

Why Roboto?

"Roboto was chosen for its geometric clarity and excellent screen readability. Its approachable forms reflect SnapSafe’s mission to make personal safety simple and friendly."

Color System

Designed for Safety, Clarity, and Confidence

The Snapsafe color palette evokes security and modernity. The primary green (#3DDC84) symbolizes trust and safety, aligning with the app's mission to protect personal moments. A clean white-gray (#F7F7F7) enhances clarity and accessibility.

Secondary colors, including deep blues and black, convey a sense of reliability and sophistication. Bright orange (#FF9F1C) and red coral (#FF3E58) are used for alerts, emphasizing situational awareness while maintaining a sense of safety and control.
